I was excited and honoured to be a volunteer for the Ontario Special Olympics being hosted in Guelph in May 2016. The opportunity this gives me to support our community and those awesome athletes who compete is a real blessing to me. It was fantastic working with this great group of professionals.
April 2016 CTV news story featuring yours truly…
In November 2012 after three terms as a member of The Guelph Mercury Community Editorial Board – that’s over six years of regular editorial publishing on the topic of my choice, I secured my own column – Boomers and Boomerangs. This was a bi-weekly editorial column, written from this Boomer’s perspective. You can view past columns at the Guelph Mercury. In January 2016, The Guelph Mercury ceased production. My column Boomers and Boomerangs was picked up by GuelphToday.com, an online publication. B&B runs every other Saturday and can be found on GuelphToday’s website or Facebook.
My husband and I worship at Crestwicke Baptist Church. We live in the north-east end of Guelph and welcome the opportunities to use our gifts and worship in a church that is part of our community and within walking distance of our home.
I LOVE VOLUNTEERING
Volunteering at a fund raiser for The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington
I love volunteering for The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington as part of the Sunshine Squad. This is a great organization with wonderful programs supporting children in or community. Volunteering for them in a variety of ways is very rewarding.
